Elizabeth Hogenbirk Obituary
Hogenbirk Elizabeth Hogenbirk, 82, passed away March 13, 2014. She was born March 6, 1932 in the Netherlands to the late Hendricus and Gertrude Puplichuizen. Elizabeth loved to be outdoors and spend time in her garden. She enjoyed nature and took great pleasure in taking her grandchildren camping. Elizabeth was a pianist who was passionate about classical music. She was an educator at the Jewish Center for a number of years, as well as a former director of a senior citizen's program and social worker for five nursing homes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Theodore Puplichuizen and Hendricus Puplichuizen and sisters Maria Vankasteel and Johanna Boost and daughter in love, Ann Hogenbirk. Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Marc (Roxanne) Hogenbirk, Christian Hogenbirk and Patrick (Jennifer) Hogenbirk; very special friend, Sharon Sheppard; siblings, Catherine Mulder, Wilma (Fred) Vankersbergen, Hubertina (Gerard) Braakman; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday with In Spirit Minister, Rev. Joanne Blum officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
