Gilbert Eugene Tatman Obituary
Tatman Gilbert Eugene Tatman, 92, of London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2013. He graduated from New Lexington High School, joined the CCC where he met and later married Zula McCombs on Christmas Day 1940. Eugene served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as a B-17 pilot and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. After his military service, he worked for the railroad, North American Rockwell and COTA before retiring. Eugene and Zula lived in Columbus until they retired to Sun City West, AZ. They lived there for 10 years before moving to London, Ohio. Eugene is survived by his wife of 72 years, Zula; and his four children, Barbara Sharon (Dan) Petrosky of Huntsville, AL, Micki (Al) Hane of Grove City, OH, Sonya (Joe) Cramer of Oceanside, CA, and Brad (Joan) Tatman of Dublin, OH; as well as two brothers, C.E. (Hazel) and Dwight (Janet) Tatman. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Service will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 6 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 3030 West Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio. Visitation is from 4-6 p.m. prior to the Service. Private inurnment.
