Jack Babbert Obituary
Babbert, Jack
1928 - 2018
Jack Leo Babbert, age 89, made his eternal transition peacefully to his glorious new home in heaven on August 6, 2018 surrounded by loving family. Jack was born in Columbus on September 25, 1928 to parents Grace and Leo and grew up in a wonderful home helping his Dad on the milk truck and falling in love with cars and music. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1946 and then entered the Army Air Corps and faithfully served his country. When he came back home he promptly married the love of his life, Beverly, and they began their life of wedded bliss and celebrated 62 years together. He was a respected leader in the printing industry and worked at Byrum Lithographing for 45 years. He was an avid car enthusiast and loved to drive and discuss anything automotive related. He also loved music and especially jazz and played drums in several bands around Central Ohio for many years. He was a faithful member of Worthington United Methodist Church for over 50 years and had a heart of service and compassion that led him to volunteer in many areas of the church. He was a masterful storyteller and loved to entertain anyone within earshot and would usually have them shedding tears of laughter. He loved his family and nothing gave him greater joy than being with them during countless birthdays, holidays, Buckeye football games and many other celebrations. During these events he was the undisputed life of the party! Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ray and Bill Middleton and his loving wife Beverly. He is survived by his brothers, Fritz and Jerry Babbert; loving children, Jack and Steve Babbert, Jeannie (David) Keseg, Linda (Samuel) Williams, Jill (Christopher) Heminger, and David (Carol) Babbert; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. There will be a private graveside service for family only next week. Memorial service will be held at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High St., Worthington, OH 43085 at 4PM on Sunday, September 23, 2018.
