James E. "Jim" Bennett Jr. Obituary
Bennett James E. "Jim" Bennett Jr., 78, was called home to his maker and to join his wife on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at Mt. Carmel West Hospital. He was born June 6, 1935 in Galloway, the son of the late James and Helen (Cochran) Bennett Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Joeanne (Tilton) Bennett and four brothers. James was a lifelong resident of Galloway and a loved member of the Galloway Presbyterian Church where he was an active member. He was a wonderful man with a pure heart and a generous soul. Jim owned and operated Bennett Tile Service for over 40 years. He enjoyed race cars, bowling and model trains and was a member of the Eagles. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed. Jim leaves behind a legacy of love including his five sons, James (Petra), Jeffrey (Kelley), Jonathan (Brenda), Jack (Kathy) and Jody Bennett; grandchildren, Stephanie, Chris, Sidney, Jenni, Michael, Jean-Nicole, Jeffrey, Sammi Jo, Kandi, Joe, Helen and John; 20 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends. Family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway. Funeral service will be held Saturday, at 10 a.m. at the Galloway Presbyterian Church, 6191 Hall Road with Rev. Linda McClanahan officiating. Burial will follow at Galloway Cemetery.
