Ball James R. Ball, age 62, passed away April 25, 2013 at Circleville Care & Rehab Center. He was born December 31,1950 at Berger Hospital to Bernard and Jane (Higgins) Ball who preceded him in death. Survived by brother, Stanley (Rita Ann) of Gambier, Ohio; sisters, Sandy (Danny) Annon of Sellersburg, Indiana, Rita (Gene) Anderson of Clearwater, Florida and Linda (Jerry) Riebel of Orient, Ohio; also survived by nephews, Jeff Annon, Steve (Paige) Annon, Brian (Sara) Ball; and nieces, Barbara Annon and Sarah Riebel. He will be remembered by special friends, HL and Brenna Gibson and their daughters, who always considered Jim as part of their family. They could always make him laugh. A special thanks to Barb Collins (Hooney) who is part of our extended Ball family. She accompanied Linda many times when she visited Jim in nursing homes over the years. Jim graduated from Teays Valley High School in 1970 from the Special Education Department. He enjoyed working on the family dairy farm for many years. He had an amazing ability to identify each Holstein dairy cow by number even if they lost their tags. After his parents passed away, Jim was involved in the workshop at Brooks Yates and he also did mowing at the roadside rest in Pickaway County for a period of time. He then spent the next several years working at Fed Ex scanning boxes until his health began to decline in 2008. He never met a stranger and he always seemed to know someone everywhere he went. Jim had a special gift of remembering driving directions after he had only been there once. The family depended on him to know the way to and from the fall family reunion at the cabin in Vinton County! Without his mental GPS we were lost every year. Jim enjoyed going to Teays Valley sporting events, OSU games, square dancing, Columbus Clippers games, the Crew games, and country music. Anywhere there was a large group of people, you would find Jim right in the middle making new friends. Jim was a member of the Commercial Point United Methodist Church. We would like to thank them for the cards they sent Jim. Special thanks to the Jim Albright family. A memorial service will be held Sunday June 2, 2013 at 3:30 pm. at the Commercial Point United Methodist Church, 28 Main St., with Pastor Tom Bolton officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Commercial Point United Methodist Church, Brooks Yates Workshop or the Teays Valley Athletic Departments.
