Straka Joseph Straka, age 94, born October 24, 1919 in Lakewood, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at his home in Dublin, Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents Mike and Mary (Roskos) Straka, two sisters Ann Straka Freitag Mary Straka Vedder, and two brothers Michael and John Straka. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Lucy Ann Wolfe Straka originally from DeGraff, Ohio; and his three children, Mary Ann (Patrick) Straka Schrote, Joann (Mark) Straka Rosenberg, and James (Hilarie) Straka; and five grandchildren, Mallory (Matthew) Straka Cohen, Benjamin (Jenna ) Rosenberg, M. Sean Rosenberg, Spencer and Rachel Schrote; and niece, Marilyn (Stan) Vedder DeMoor. Joe attended Lakewood High School, Western Reserve University, Baldwin Wallace College. He was a Marine, Mason, a Shriner-Al Koran, and member of the American Legion. Joe loved his family, golf, card games, music, travel and a good joke. A celebration of Joe's life will be held at the Dublin Retirement Village, 6470 Post Road, Dublin, Ohio 43016 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30.
