Allen Juanita June (Eastman) Allen, passed away February 15, 2013 at St. Ann's Hospital. Born April 26, 1925, Logan, OH to George and Ruth (VanCuren) Eastman. Preceded in death by her loving husband LeRoy James Allen, Sr., brother George Eastman, sisters Mary Eby and Delores Baesman. Member (1985) of Blendon Senior Center where she enjoyed quilting and crafts. Charter member of the Blendonaires Band (guitar and vocals), Red Hat Society; the center provided her a new lifeline of friends and activities and became known and loved by all. Loved county music (mention a word and she always knew a song); among her favorite artists, Ernest Tubbs, Kitty Wells, George Jones and Hank Williams, Sr.; favorite song was 'God Didn't make Honky Tonk Angels' Kitty Wells. She "truly" was the glue the held the family together. Among her proudest achievements was seeing her sons graduate from high school, something she and dad were not able to do. What a baker and cook she was, producing the best 'melt-in-your-mouth fudge', holiday foods that were fit for a king and enough to feed an army; mom could stretch a dollar with the best of them and as a result the family enjoyed many summer vacations; daughter-in-law (Irene) was the daughter that she never had, the two were close friends beyond definition; deciding to sell her house after dad's death, she was among the first residents at The Woods at Central College, she often remarked how much she enjoyed her new home and the many friends that she made. Survived by sons, Charles (Irene) Allen, LeRoy James Allen, Jr., Robert (Vonnie) Allen; and sister, Myrtle Johnson; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Juanita Allen was know and loved by many and the vision of her smile will remain etched in the memories of her family and friends.
