Fishburn Karen D. Fishburn, age 78, of Marengo, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, September 8, 2013 at Riverside Hospital. The community has lost not only a community steward, but a tireless servant who has touched countless lives. Karen suffered a massive stroke which occurred on Thursday while at Riverside Hospital awaiting surgery for an unrelated condition. The Fishburn's are the owners of many local businesses in Morrow County, including Fishburn Services, Producing and Farms; Marengo, Mt. Gilead and Mansfield Auto Parts Stores; Ole Farmstead Inn, Suds 'n Sun, Sparkle 'n Shine, and the Cardinal Center Campground and Shooting Center, where Karen and Jack were recently inducted into the Trap Shooting Hall of Fame by the Ohio State Trapshooting Association. The Fishburn's have also strived to help the development of numerous local businesses, including a local doctor's and dentist's office and an industrial park. Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 58 years, Jack; daughter, Denise (Dana) Aumend; son, Dan "Boone" (Debbie) Fishburn all of Marengo; grandchildren, Devin Aumend, Travis (Rachel) Fishburn, Renae (Daniel) Schwartz; great-grandsons, Jaxon and soon expected Harrison; brother, Kendall (Madonna) Wood of Coshocton; extended family, and the Morrow County community. She now rests from her labors, but she leaves a legacy of work that will continue to speak of her good deeds. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1-3 p.m. on Thursday at the Marengo United Methodist Church Family Life Center, 8 N. Main St., Marengo, OH 43334, where service celebrating her life will follow at 3 p.m. on Thursday. Interment Bloomfield Cemetery.
