Lettie Simmons Obituary
Simmons Lettie Simmons, 87, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Pickaway Manor in Circleville. She was born August 16, 1926 in Greenville, NC, the daughter of Rev. Ulisus and Mary (Williams) Hines. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herston Simmons, oldest son Orlando Hines and siblings Beatrice, Jessie, Nepolan, Olivia and Ulisus, Jr. Lettie was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Columbus. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She was a hairdresser and owned and operated Lettie's House of Style for many years. Kind, loving and outgoing, Lettie will be greatly missed by her many family and special friends. She is survived by sons, Robert Kershaw of Columbus and Alphonso (Emily) Kershaw of Circleville; grandchildren, Geoff, Jodi and Erin Bommer, Kevin Hawkins, Stephen Patterson, Charmaine Charlton, Antone Hines and Brayden Kershaw; special niece, Debbie (Jerome) Smith; and many other nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Presbyterian Church, 134 E. Mound St., Circleville with Pastor Troy Braswell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice, 1170 N. Court St., Circleville, OH 43113. Arrangements were made with DEFENBAUGH-WISE-SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, Circleville.
