MCGARVEY Lois McGarvey, aged 68 passed away to heaven on December 12, 2012. She was born July 18,1944 and had been a life-long southside Columbus resident. Lois loved her family, friends, animals, nature, and she never met a stranger. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer McGarvey, Sonia McGarvey, and Lisa (Chuck Diles) McGarvey that took care of her; son, Charles M. McGarvey; and adopted son, Gary Knipp; grandchildren, Joshua McGarvey and Ashley McGarvey; and great-grandson that she was G.G. to, Carter McGarvey; sisters, Karen Randolph, Linda Gregg, and Susan (Steve) Edington; brother, Steve (Helen) Routte; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Lois's family in heaven before her includes her son Thomas W. McGarvey, her parents Hubert and Opal Routte, brother-in-laws John Randolph, William Gregg, and nephew William Stover Jr. She also has her precious pets in heaven Shep, Smokey, Little Bit, and Tiny Butt as well as grandpets, Maggie, Patty and Tabi. On behalf of Lois, the family would like to thank Dr. Shakir Sarwar and the awesome staff of Hematology-Oncology Consultants Inc. Mom said she felt special there while getting her chemo. Also, Dr. Kelly Fleming for her years of care and encouragement. Thank you to the employees of CVS, Family Dollar, and Kroger on Parsons Ave., they were always so nice to our Mom. A heartfelt thank you and gratitude to Odyssey Hospice for their care and kind hearts, especially nurse Jennifer Blevins. Thank you Dear God for your many blessings upon our family. Friends may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Friday 2-4 p.m .and 7-9 p.m. Where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Interment Obetz Cemetery.
