Margaret May Crow Obituary
Crow Margaret May Crow, age 85, of Columbus, died peacefully Monday, February 24, 2014 at Our Family Home at Johnstown Road. She was a graduate of Niles McKinley High School where she played the trombone in the marching band, and White Cross Nursing School Class of 1949. She was a proud and devoted nurse, starting her career at Benjamin Franklin Tuberculosis Hospital and continuing at the Central Ohio Psychiatric Hospital. Her six daughters remember her as "the BEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD"; "she sacrificed everything for her family and her patients". She was formerly active with McKendree United Methodist Church and later with Abiding Savior Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and quilting and was a fixture at Beth's Creative Stitchery and the Glass Thimble. She is preceded in death by her husband Walter J. "Joe" Crow in 1970, grandson Richard Timothy Hardy and parents Lela May "Dolly" and Alfred Bullock. She is survived by her six loving daughters, Kathy (David) McLaughlin, Linda (John) Hardy, Margaret "Peggy" Griffin, Nancy (Dan Cupps) Crow, Carolyn (Howard) Simms, and Sue Ellen Crow; brothers, Rev. Bill (Ruth), Richard (H. Joan), and Bob (Sue) Bullock; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER LINDEN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2741 Cleveland Avenue, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014. Interment at Riverside Cemetery. Margaret's family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Our Family Home and Hospice Services at Methodist Eldercare for the excellent care she received.
