PICKSTONE Norman Reginald Pickstone, age 88 of Columbus, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Laurels of Worthington. Born to Joseph and Mary Curran Pickstone on September 30, 1924 at Washington Township in Fayette County, PA. Retired school teacher with the Monongalia County School System of West Virginia, member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a 1962 Graduate of Fairmont State College where he earned his BA in Education. WWII combat veteran who flew 25 missions over Germany in a B-17. Active in civic affairs serving multiple terms as a city councilman and volunteer fire chief in Rivesville, WV where he resided for many years. Preceded in death by daughter Nancy Pickstone Morgan of Fairmont, WV, three brothers and two sisters. Survived by wife of 65 years, Mary Jane Riggi Pickstone; sister, Beatty Pickstone Horton of Charleston, SC; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Stephen and Benita Pickstone of Columbus and Norman and Suzanne Pickstone of Fairmont, WV; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington. Mass of Christian Burial shall take place at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 N. High Street, Worthington. Father Anthony A. Dinovo, Jr. Celebrant. Interment with military honors at Resurrection Cemetery is to follow.
