ALEXANDER Robert Scott Alexander, 80, of Canal Winchester, Friday, January 11, 2013 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Born to the late Leonard and Thelma Alexander of Wooster, Scott was a graduate of Wooster High School and the Ohio State University School of Agriculture. Farming was an important part of his life. Scott proudly served as a First Lieutenant in the Army before going on to a career as an Internal Security Manager for Ohio Bell, where he retired after 34 years. After retiring, Scott worked as a substitute teacher in a number of local school districts, where the kids affectionately called him, "Mr. Al". He also volunteered with the Fairfield County Sheriff's Community Watch Program. During the holidays, Scott took great pride in playing the part of Santa Claus throughout the community. Scott was a member of Bloom Presbyterian Church in Lithopolis, where he served as an Elder and Clerk of Session. Scott is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jeanne; sons, Brian (Katelyn) Alexander of Johnson City, TN, and Rick (Kim) Alexander of Berea; daughter, Susan (Allen) Lytle of Satellite Beach, FL; grandson, Christopher Lytle; and brother, David (Elizabeth) Alexander of New York. Scott was preceded in death by his son John Richard Alexander and his infant brother John Richard Alexander. Friends may visit from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, OH, where a memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Scott's memory to the Bloom Presbyterian Church, 75 East South Street, Lithopolis, OH 43136.
