Gardier Dr. Robert Woodward Gardier, 86, of Upper Arlington, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2013, Riverside Methodist Hospital (Hospice), surrounded by family. Some of Bob's scientific societies have included Sigma Xi; Society for Experimental Biology & Medicine; American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics; Society of Toxicology; and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Bob taught Pharmacology and Toxicology to approximately 4,500 medical students, nurse anesthetists, anesthesiology residents, oral surgery residents, and graduate students in basic medical sciences over a 33-year academic career. He loved teaching and mentoring his students but even with all his devotion to his students and his research, Bob made time to be the best husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed being Mr. Fixit; loved to travel, read history and politics; and play golf, especially at Williamsburg, VA and The Greenbrier, WV. Bob enjoyed family gatherings around the table at Hunan Lion. He is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
