Rose Marie Abbott, age 89, daughter of the late Cledis and Stella (Pointdexter) Blackburn, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018. She was born on October 23, 1928 in Bedford, IN. Rose Marie loved God, her family and people. Rose and her late husband of 67 years moved to Worthington in 1968 and were longtime member of Worthington Seventh-day Adventist Church. Rose loved to draw, paint and travel. Her favorite place to go was Gatlinburg Tennessee. Her later years Rose loved to sit on the porch to watch and hear the birds. Rose's most notable attribute was her love for God and her family. She loved spending time with her great grandchildren. Rose looked forward to the second coming of Christ when Jesus will come and make all this right. In addition to her parents, Rose Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband Bruce Abbott, Sister Anita, Jr, Gordon, Jennet and Bill. She is survived by her children, Linda Jones, David (Bonnie) Abbott and Michael "Mickey" (Lori) Abbott; grandchildren, Josh (Karly) Abbott, Julie (Jeff) Hume, Jen (Steve) Roush, Nathan (Noelle) Abbott, and Kelsey Abbott; 6 great-grandchildren. Many thanks go out to DR. Waluzak and staff for the many years he took such great care of Rose, as well as the staff from Brookdale Senior Living in Westerville, whom Rose considered her family. A funeral celebrating Rose Marie's life will be held at 1pm Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N High Street with Pastor Yuliyan Filipov officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to Worthington Seventh-day Adventist Church Benevolent Fund, 385 E Dublin Granville Rd., Worthington, OH 43085.
