Cron Ruth Cron, age 96 of Plain City, passed away Monday evening, October 21, 2013 at Edgewater Place, Born August 21, 1917 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of late Edward and Mary (Bailey) Shannon. Preceded in death by husband Robert D. Cron - 1983, brothers Vause Shannon and Henry Shannon. Survived by her children, Paul (Julie) Cron, James (Freda) Cron; grandsons, Mark (Allyson) Cron, Todd Yoder; granddaughters, Amanda Cron, Katie Cron; eight great-grandchildren. Member of Plain City United Methodist Church, The Ivory Chandler Circle of the Kings Daughters, OES Elizabeth Chapter #56 of Plain City, Plain City American Legion Post #248. Volunteer Memorial Hospital of Union County and Pleasant Valley Senior Center, Plain City. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 202 E. Main Street, (St. Rte. 161W), Plain City. Graveside service 11 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013 at the Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City with Pastor Blaine Keene officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Plain City United Methodist Church Building Fund, 202 N. Chillicothe St., Plain City, Ohio 43064 or to Heartland Hospice, 6500 Busch Blvd., #210, Columbus, Ohio 43229.
