Suzanne Ross Obituary
Ross, Suzanne
1922 - 2018
Suzanne Luethi Ross, died in 2018, on the 9th day of June. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Harold and Freda Davidson Luethi. Suzanne's family is forever thankful to Jenny Williams, Myrna Pierre, Babette Brown, Kisha Davis and Brande Michael with Jackie Brooks (Assurance Care Group). They also thank OhioHealth Kobacker and their nurses for the wonderful attention and incredible special hospice care provided. Suzanne wrote; I am survived by my children, Stephen (Donna) Ross of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Carol (Stephen) Gammon of Sarasota, Florida and Jeffrey Ross of Columbus, Ohio; my grandchildren, Amanda (Randy) Mazey, Sarah (Adam) Mowery, William Ross and Amy Ross; my great grandchildren, Weston and Sierra Mazey and Ella and Nora Mowery; my sister, Sally and her late husband Jack Havens; my nieces and nephews, Christopher Havens, Ellen (Mark) Hardymon, Thomas Havens and Suzanne (Philipp) Nick; along with great nieces and nephews, John Havens, Parker Panik, Elizabeth, Emily and Elliot Nick. I attended Bexley High School and Ohio Wesleyan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1944 and a Masters Degree in Social Work in 1971 from The Ohio State University. I am a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority and an honorary member of the Theta Sigma Phi Society (renamed) the Association for Women in Communications). I enjoyed volunteering at James Care at Stoneridge and Riverside Hospital. A family service will be held at a later date. Writing poetry has been a passion all my life. This short verse seems appropriate for my obituary –
Dust to Dust
I wondered why the sky was blue,
And found light plus dust creates the hue.
I always thought of dust as brown,
I always thought of dust as down.
But a dusty sky's exceeding tall,
So maybe heaven's up there after all.
