BLANTON Betty Ann (Daniel) Blanton, age 73 of Sunbury passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 after an extended and courageous battle with heart disease. She now has "gone away with a friend". Betty and her beloved husband of 55 years made their home in Sunbury for 48 years. Betty will be remembered for her dedication to her loving husband Carmine, family and friends. A member of the Shiloh United Baptist Church and the diapers to degrees program of the Child Conservation League, she was a founding member of the Big Walnut Friends Who Share. She also assisted with the Cancer Society and the local Red Cross blood drives. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and being with family and friends. A devoted homemaker, she also worked with OSU Hospital, Ranco, and Nestles'. Betty is survived by her mother, Mary Eunice Cuba; husband, Carmine; daughters, Sheri Rice, Katrina (Wayne) Souder; grandchildren, Holly (Mike) Fisher, Sierra and Delenn Souder; brothers, Robert (Phyllis) Daniel and Isaac David (Judy) Daniel. She was preceded in death by her father L.T. Daniel, son Joe D. Blanton, grandson Mark A. Rice, brothers John, Richard, and Larry Daniel. Her family would like to say a special thanks to Mt. Carmel Hospice for their loving care and support during her illness. Words cannot begin to express how deeply she will be missed. Friends may call Monday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the DEVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR's 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be Tuesday 1 p.m., interment Sunbury Memorial Park.
