BROOKS Effley "Poodle" Brooks, Jr., 70, son of the late Effley Brooks, Sr. and Elizabeth Brooks went to be with the Lord April 10,2012 surrounded by family. He was born in Wevaco, West Virginia on February 21, 1942. Poodle's favorite things to do were boating, camping, traveling, and above all he truly loved and adored his family. He was a retired self-employed truck driver after being employed by the Ohio Malible for years. He regularly attended New Birth Christian Ministies. Preceded in death by his son Victor Marn Brooks. Survived by his loving wife, Rosemary Norris-Brooks; brother, Curtis (Frieda) Brooks; sister, Faye (James) Hughes; children, Donita (Thurman) Walker, Effley Douglas (Joyce), Lynnette, Yvette (John), Sylvester Jr., Ylonda (A.Troy), Ylisia (Charles), Connie, Dominic (Janice), Ebony (Mark), from Los Angeles, CA, Shiela (special son-in-law, James Anderson III), Tina Marie, Lavette, Kimberly, Delmar, Christopher; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. Funeral service Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 11 a.m. at New Birth Christian Ministries, 3475 Refugee Rd, Pastor Kenneth E. Moore, Sr., Rev. Eric Carson, officiating, where the family will receive friends 10 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements entrusted to CALIMAN FUNERAL SERVICES.
