GILFILEN Wilma Eloise Gilfilen, 89, of Columbus, died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Worthington Christian Village. She was born November 24, 1922 in Condit, OH to the late William and Sada (Smothers) Ford. She was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired after 20 years as a baker with Columbus Public Schools, Medina Jr. High. She was a member of Northeast/Northpark Church of Christ and enjoyed playing cards, baking and cooking. She was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by sisters Mary Cring and Rose Daniels and is survived by John "Ed" her loving husband of 66 years; children, Mindy (Duncan) Thorp and Gary (Pat) Gilfilen,; grandchildren, Matt (Amy) Thorp and Melissa (Jeremy) Merritt; great- grandson, Max Thorp. Family will receive friends Sunday, from 2-4 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. Graveside service will be Monday, at 12 noon at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 5600 E. Broad St. Memorial contributions may be made to Worthington Christian Village, 165 Highbluffs Blvd., Columbus, OH 43235.
