Josephine Copp Obituary

COPP Josephine "Jo Jo" Rickey Copp, 90, of Duck Run Road, Lucasville, Ohio, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at SOMC Hospice. She was born March 8, 1922 in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Frank W. Rickey and Winona Staten Rickey. She graduated from PHS in 1940; was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church, the Holmes' Club, and was an avid sports fan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Copp, a son Rickey Copp, four sisters Frances Rickey Hurth, Julia Rickey Peebles, Emily Rickey Hill and Ellen Rickey Adams and one brother Frank W. Rickey, Jr. Jo Jo is survived by one son, Christopher F. (Sharon) Copp of Duck Run, Lucasville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Matthew (Jody) Copp of Columbus, Ohio, Lindsay (John) Mileham of Cincinnati, Ohio, Christopher J. (Tanya) Copp of Duck Run Lucasville, Ohio, Ryan D. (Jennifer) Copp of McDermott, Ohio; six great-grandchildren, Madeline, A.J., Alex, Luke, Lauren and Emma. Jo Jo is also survived by a sister, Sally Rickey Copp of Lebanon, Ohio; and a special nephew, Andy Adams. Funeral service will be held at 12Noon, January 21, 2013 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church, with Reverend Sam Bradley officiating. Interment will be in Rushtown Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 12Noon-3 p.m. at F.C. DAEHLER MORTUARY COMPANY in Portsmouth. The family would like to thank the staff SOMC Hospice inpatient and outpatient, for the loving care and kindness at our time of greatest need. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
