Williams Donald Herbert Williams, 87, of Delaware, Ohio, and formerly Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware. Don was born on August 15, 1925, in Lansing, Michigan, to the Rev. Morgan Leslie and Clara Belle (Arthur) Williams. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Roger. Don is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Sally, and is the loving father of Susan (Robert) Bauer of Westerville, Judy Williams (Todd Henning) of Upper Arlington, and Steven (Stephanie) Williams of Rockbridge, Ohio. He is a cherished Grandpa to Jessica Bauer, Julia (Ben) Senff, Claudia Henning, Zachary and Jeremy Williams, and Great-Grandpa to Marie and Charlie Senff. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Donald (Jill) Eliot; sister-in-law, Kay Williams; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Following graduation from North High School in 1942 and one year at Ohio State U., he completed officer training as a Naval Ensign, receiving pilot wings in 1945. He graduated from OSU with BS and MS in Industrial Engineering. Memberships included Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Pi Mu National Industrial Engineering Honorary, Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, American Legion, Old North Hi Club, York Lodge No.563 F&AM, Scottish Rite and Aladdin Temple Shrine where he sang with the Chanters. Employed by AccuRay and Gerhard Associates. Long-time member of Mountview Baptist Church, Upper Arlington, where he was moderator and sang in the choir. Current member of First Baptist Church, Delaware. Don and Sally began their life together at First Baptist Church where they met and were married. Don enjoyed an active life filled with family events and interests in singing, sailing, golf, Boy Scouts, RV travel, OSU athletics, photography, painting and poetry. Active in Vaud-Villities for 38 yrs. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 21, from 2-5 p.m. at SNYDER-RODMAN FUNERAL CENTER, 1510 West William Street, at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where a Masonic service will be held at 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 22, at First Baptist Church, 101 N. Franklin Street, Delaware with Rev. Tim Chesser officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow. Interment will be at 2 p.m. in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Don's memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45229 or First Baptist Church, Delaware.
