Van Gorp Cornelius Robert Shanahan Van Gorp - Casey. Born in Texas, on a windy day, November 12, 2003. He blew into our lives with such strength and contagious enthusiasm. He lived nine strong years and impacted most anyone who knew him. His two-year battle with cancer elevated his strength to a level that seemed inhuman. His strength once expressed physically thru rock climbing, swimming, fishing, cycling and other outdoor sports, was rerouted spiritually. Physical limitations did not stop him from planning his future. His thoughts reflected maturity far beyond his years. And, although he spent his last months in a hospital bed, his strength was undeniable. When he felt a shift in energy above, he chose quietly and peacefully to leave his unhealing body and free himself of all his physical suffering. Casey passed early, Saturday morning, September 21, 2013: The International Day of Peace. He was a role model scout and student of Wyandot Run Elementary School in Powell. Casey lived by the Golden Rule and expected no less from others. He had so many friends and family supporting him and fighting the battle along side him with their undying love and prayers. Survived by his sister, Molly, 13, who is his constant supporter and teammate for life; his parents, Cornel and Kathleen, who were ever devoted to his newest causes and projects. They are so proud to be a part of his life. He fulfilled theirs and continues to everyday they live in the memory of their superhero son, Casey. Please join us in celebration of Casey's life at the Liberty Presbyterian Church, 7080 Home Road, Delaware, Ohio 43015. Services will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013. Dear Van Gorp family,
I feel as if I know Casey. My daughter was working on his Life video while we were in Michigan. He was a special little boy. It is obvious to me that he was a Blessing to everyone he came in to contact with. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Bonnie
