Cameron Pytel Obituary

Pytel Cameron Eugene Pytel. Our beloved son, brother and friend, Cameron Eugene Pytel and his wife, Alicia Chaves, passed away suddenly in a car accident on December 31, 2014 near Orlando, Florida. Cam was born April 25, 1962 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Eugene and Melva Pytel. Cam's family moved to Columbus, Ohio when he was five years old, and all of his schooling was completed in the Columbus area - from kindergarten to graduating from Ohio State with a BSC in Mechanical Engineering, and then an MBA. Cam met his beautiful wife "Kika" were married for 15 years. They both loved traveling and spent their summer weekends boating on Lake Erie. He was involved with the real-estate investment area as a portfolio manager. He loved traveling and was a good, kind-hearted, very generous man. Cam has joined his grandparents Steve and Mary Pytel, and his grandfather Norman Paulsen, in heaven. Cam is survived by his grandmother, Hazel Paulsen; parents, Eugene and Melva Pytel; sister, Kelly (Ken) Redd; brother, Rick Pytel; nieces, Stephanie (Nick) Large and Amanda (Joshua) Leckington; and nephews, Joel (Allison) Redd and Mark Redd. Cam is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cam always loved animals, especially their two dogs, Dude and Gizzy; who loved him as much as he loved them. Cam participated in many sports such as skiing, golfing, biking, swimming and hiking; and he loved cheering on his Ohio State Buckeyes. Cam loved life and lived it to the fullest. His brother Rick said, "Cam did more in his 52 years than most people do in 100." Visitation for both Cam and Alicia will be on Friday, January 9 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 313 N. State St. in Westerville, where Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 10, followed by a private family interment. The Rev. Fr. David Gwinner Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Columbus Academy Financial Aid Fund or the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, 4340 Tamarack Blvd., Columbus, OH. Rick and family,

Thoughts and prayers being sent to your entire family. I am so sorry for your loss. Cam graduated with my sister, Lori at Beechcroft. She too, is heartbroken. I didn't know Cam very well but I certainly remember he was a genuine, nice guy he was and he was always smiling. May you take comfort knowing that he and his wife are together in Heaven. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Although i didn't know Cam well, i knew him enough to know that he was one of the good ones. Cam was always kind to me when i passed him in the hallways at work, and by always i mean 100% of the time. He will be missed.

Dear Melva, Gene, Kelly, Rick and family,
I'm so very sorry to learn of Cam and Alicia's tragic passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember coming to your house in Westerville and always looking forward to playing with Cam, Rick and Kelly. We had so many good times as children. I regret losing track of your family only to discover after Cam's passing that my son had Señora Chavez as his Spanish teacher at Columbus Academy, and I never knew she was married to Cam. I will continue to pray for God to comfort you and give you peace in this difficult time.
Blessings,

January 7, 2015

Our love and prayers go out to both families at this very difficult time in their lives. May the love of God sustain them in the difficult days ahead.
