Lewis Edward Cook Obituary
Lewis Edward Cook was born in Houlka, Miss. on April 14, 1948, to Mr. John Louis Cook and Mrs. Mable Cook. He moved to Forrest City at the age of 5. He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 10. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School. After graduating high school he went to the Job Corp. where he was a cook. After completing Job Corp., he moved back to Forrest City and went to work at Airtherm, where he worked for 41 years. He retired in 2014. He has also served as a member of Pilgrim Lodge #55 (PHA) for 48 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mable Cook; two brothers, Herman Ranson and Louis Chester Cook; one sister–, Lillie Robinson; and two sons, Lewis Cook, Jr. and Anthony Cook.
He leaves to cherish his memories a daughter, Tina Cook-Smith; a son, Andre (Tesha) Johnson of Grand Prairie, Texas; six grandchildren, Tayana Gordon and Jasmine Gordon of Forrest City, Robert Gordon, Jr. of Jonesboro, Myshae Cook and Anthony Cook of Mentor, Ohio, and Andre Johnson, Jr. of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Bass of Beloit, Wis., and Bobbie Jean Robinson of Ohio; two special nieces, Elaine Cook and Barbara Wells; a special friend of 21 years, Shirley Butler; a lifelong friend, Leroy Smith; a young lady whom he called his other daughter, Malora Barrett; four great grandchildren, Ta'Miya, Terrill, Jr., Tylan, and Ja'Kyla; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, Oct 13, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Kincaid Funeral Services. Kincaid Funeral Services of Forrest City is in charge of arrangements.
Funeral services for Lewis Edward Cook will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Freedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Forrest City with Pastor Lee Hamilton delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at Casteel Cemetery.
