Dorothy Maddox

YATESVILLE - Mrs. Dorothy T. Maddox, 91, of Yatesville, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Riverside Health and Rehab in Thomaston.

Mrs. Maddox was a native of Cartersville. She was a former elementary school teacher's aide in the Upson County School Board of Education. She had also been employed by the William Carter Company.

Mrs. Maddox was a member of the Yatesville Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Charles W. (Jo Lynn) Maddox, Jr., of Thomaston and James L. (Lynn) Maddox, Sr., of Yatesville; a sister, Shirley Evans of Yatesville; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Cranford Tidwell of Albany and Pearl Tidwell of Cartersville; a brother-in-law, Walter Boyt of Yatesville; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maddox were held on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Yatesville Baptist Church. Rev. Terry Threadgill and Rev. Steve MaGuire officiated and burial was in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
