THOMASTON – Mr. James Marvin Clemons, age 74, of Thomaston died on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Brightmoor Hospital in Griffin.

Mr. Clemons was born on January 16, 1940 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Floyd and Golden Clemons. He was formerly employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation, where he worked as an Assistant District Enginee for 29 years. Mr. Clemons was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Wanda Clemons of Thomaston, Georgia; son, Mr. Don (Donna) Clemons of Austell, Georgia; brother, Mr. Delbert (Janice) Clemons of Mt. Starling, Kentucky; sister, Mrs. Ruth (Gale) Gregory of Stanton, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Anna Rose Morehead, Mrs. Mariam (Talmadge) Smallwood; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Clemons, David (Shanell) Clemons; and several nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 11 a.m. from Mountain View Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 6-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain View Baptist Church at 2569 Jeff Davis Road, Thomaston, GA 30286.
