EATONTON - Joseph Benjamin Hoyle, 65, of Eatonton, Georgia died Friday, August 16, 2013.
Memorial services were held on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bill Barton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Covenant Care Services of Macon or Lillie's Dream Team for Rett Syndrome Research, PO Box 706143, Cincinnati, OH 45270-6143.
Joe was born on June 29, 1948 to the late Olivia Keller Hoyle and George Felton Hoyle, Sr.
Joe graduated from the University of Georgia in 1971 with a BA degree in business. He served on the Board of Covenant Care for 15 years and as President for two of those years. He was a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual from August 16, 1989 until December 31 2001, earning the designations CLU, ChFC. Joe was a member of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church in Eatonton, Ga. He was a former member of Vineville Baptist church of Macon, Ga. where he served as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and a member of the V-Men singers.
Joe was a man who loved his family and friends and nurtured long term relationships. He enjoyed life on the lake and at one time was an avid skier. His hobbies included reading, boating and playing guitar.
Joe is survived by his wife, Virginia Hoyle (whom he fondly nicknamed Peaches) of Eatonton; son, John Michael (Holly) Hoyle of Macon; daughters, Laurie (Bradley) Parks of Macon, Kara (Brian) Gordon of Portland, Oregon; Tracey (Mark) Gram of Atlanta; son, Kevin (Lark) Ogle of Oakland, California; sister, Cathy (Charles) Osbolt of Griffin, Ga.; brothers, Butch (Jan) Hoyle of Carrollton, GA and Dudley (Linda) Hoyle of Williamsburg, Virginia and seven grandchildren, Naida Hoyle, Joseph Benjamin Hoyle, Marley Hoyle, Allie Olivia Parks, Sarah Bates Gram, William Gram and Mars Floresca- Ogle.
