William Paul Dean Obituary
WEST POINT - William "Paul" Dean, 94, New Kent, VA died on June 29, 2014. He was the son of the late James and Janie Dean. He was preceded in death by his wife Sophie Hove Dean and brothers, James, Pelton and Horace Dean and a great-grandson Nathan Ogle. He was truly a family man and loved the land. Paul retired from Camp Perry after 20 years of service and returned to farming the family lands the rest of his life. He was a life-long member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Paul is survived by two daughters Ruth Fostek (Alex) of Eltham and Janis Little (Chris) of Providence Forge; a son Billy Dean (Yvonne) of Barhamsville; a brother David Dean (Nancy) of Barhamsville; a sister Edna Fowlkes of Providence Forge and 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was a life-long resident of Barhamsville until 2012 when both he and his wife moved to Spring Arbor of Williamsburg. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Spring Arbor for their loving care and assistance and Hospice Community Care of Newport News. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. July 3rd, 2014 at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 22051 Tabernacle Road, Barhamsville, VA. 23011. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church (address above) or Tabernacle Memorial Association, c/o Patsy Farmer, 124 Powhatan Drive, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
