Hardy, Erroyl Ski
ERROYL SKI HARDY 59, of Blocksburg, CA, passed away in his home on Saturday April 18, 2015. Ski was born on May 22, 1955 in Scotia, CA to his parents James Arthur Hardy and the late Georgie Phyllis Hardy. He is survived by the love of his life Mary Ann Riedel; his siblings Rita Wescott of Eureka, CA and Brad Hardy of Joshua Tree, CA; and predeceased by his sister Pamela Hardy of Blocksburg, CA. His spirit is carried on by his four children: Amber Garcia of Napa, CA, Angela Slodow of Suisun City, CA, Justin Hardy and Zacharhia Hardy of Fortuna, CA; and four grandchildren: Madeleine Slodow, Michael, Frankie and Emelia Pearl Garcia. He had a lifelong love affair with nature and the land where he spent much of his life. He'd much rather be hunting, fishing, or diving for abalone on any given day. For his children, learning to pitch a tent, shoot a rifle, skin a deer, clean a trout and cast a surf fish net on the shores of the Pacific Northwest was a right of passage. He took great pride in his cooking skills. You could always bet that no matter what the party or family get together, Ski would be manning the BBQ preparing food for those he loved. His legacy to his children will be his deer jerky and tender buck steaks, always smoked and pan-fried to perfection. As a former Lumberjack, Ski believed that he would return to us as a Raven after his time here passed. He will be forever missed; yet fondly remembered each time a Raven fly's over in the skies above. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to support the Alderpoint Volunteer Fire Department. Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 169, Blocksburg, CA 95514. Memorial Services will be held and details announced in the future. Please sign the guestbook at www.times-standard.com under obituaries.
