Allan Laurence Strom Allan Laurence Strom, 82, of Fortuna, California, went to Heaven Nov. 2, 2013. He was born in Glasston, North Dakota., June 12, 1931, the son of Arthur and Ella Strom. Allan was raised in North Dakota and graduated from Fargo Central High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Ardell Nelson, January. 4, 1952. Together in the course of their 61 year marriage they raised four sons, traveled coast to coast, excelled in their careers and served Jesus Christ. Allan graduated from UCLA
in 1954 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration-Finance. Heworked in the financial-services industry for 50 years, as a marketing executive, consultant and sales-promotion manager. Companies he worked for include, among others, Western States Life Insurance Company, Franklin Life Insurance Company and Monex Deposit Company. An accomplished singer, Al greatly enjoyed music. He was a soloist in a myriad of settings, including a jazz big band, and performed in musicals, barbershop quartets, choruses and church choirs. Allan was a close and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He served for years as an elder in various Presbyterian Churches and also in leadership roles at Fortuna's Rohnerville Assembly of God Church. He served as a small-group leader and marriage counselor. For many years he was a board member and major supporter of Rich In Jesus Ministries. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ardell Strom, his sister, Florence Chino, of Beaverton, Ore., children Rodney and Susan Strom of Eureka, Calif., Randall Strom of Los Angeles, Calif., Richmond and Nhel Strom of Quezon Province, the Philippines, and Ronald and Leanne Strom of Grants Pass, Ore., and grandchildren Dustin Henson of Eureka, Calif., Erik and Jennifer Strom of La Crescenta, Calif., Israel Strom of Keyser, Ore., Andrew and Tianna Eddy of Rogue River, Ore., and Ariel Strom of Grants Pass, Ore. A memorial service will be held for Allan on Saturday November 23, 1:00PM, at Rohnerville Assembly of God Church, 1530 Rohnerville Road, Fortuna, Calif.
