Jon Alan Daetwiler

Jon Alan Daetwiler In Loving Memory of Jon Alan "Jodie" Daetwiler who went to be with God on June 2, 2014. Jon was born December 14, 1952 in Fortuna, California to Terry and Oren Daetwiler. He lived most of his life in Humboldt County and graduated from Fortuna High School in 1971. Jon was a man of many talents - commercial fishing with his father, saw filer in the local mills. He loved to play music with his brother Danny in a band they started after high school. Jon was known for "running" a pool table completely if he had the first shot. Jon was very passionate about restoring classic cars - many of which were shown at the local car shows. In 1983 he married Cindy Arney. During their 21 years together they had 3 amazing children - Dustin Daetwiler, Dakota Daetwiler-Miller, and Dutch Daetwiler. In 1994 Jon and Cindy started Ferndale Jewelers. Jon became an accomplished watch and clock repairman and in 2006 started Big Time Watch in Eureka , where he lived his remaining years. Jon is loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by his 3 children - Dustin Daetwiler, Dakota Daetwiler-Miller and Dutch Daetwiler, his ex-wife Cindy Daetwiler, his grandson Jett Miller, his brothers and sisters - Linn, Gary, Nancy, Jerry, Connie and Tommy, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, and life long best friend Dave Mel. He is preceded in death by - Oren and Terry Daetwiler - his parents. Dee Anne, Danny, and Joelyn his siblings. A private graveside service will be June 13, 2014 at Sunrise Cemetery in Fortuna. Flowers may be sent to Goble's Chapel in Fortuna. Arrangements are under the care of Goble's Fortuna Mortuary, 560 12th street, Fortuna, California.
