Juanita Ida Franklin passed away October 2, 2012 at Frye's Care Home in Eureka, CA. Juanita was born in Los Angeles, CA. on November 27, 1925. She was a lifelong resident of Los Angeles and a die-hard Dodger fan with season tickets between home and first base. Juanita moved to Humboldt County in 2003 to enter Frye's Care Home near her daughter and son-in-law. Juanita was a member of Culver City Emblem Club #254 and Pacific Coast Lady Anglers, winning the first Albacore (26lb. 8oz.) for that club's charter in1978. She also caught a 120 Marlin in Mulege, Mexico which she stuffed and hung on her living room wall. She caught, filleted and canned all her fish and enjoyed many mother-daughter fishing trips on the Pacific Star in San Diego and in Mexico. She was a beautiful woman, spirited, proud, full of laughter, out for a good time, often difficult and stubborn, she loved people, the Dodgers, deep sea fishing but mostly her family. She was predeceased by her parents Orpha Salome Vigil Casias and John Alston Ingram; Sisters Clara Mae, Nelda Ruth; brother Robert Ingram; husband Suren and sons Robert and Anthony Franklin. Juanita is survived by her daughter, Sherry Hazelton (Dennis); sister Norma Jean Williams; grandson Suren (Frances); great-grandsons Steven, David and Daniel Franklin; nieces Cheryl Haire, Diane Ingram, Sandra Scott and Lorraine Taylor and cousin Abel (Christine) Armas and many Vigil relatives in Taos, New Mexico.
