Loretta Mary Forthoffer passed away October 3, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Eureka, following successful knee replacement surgery. The autopsy showed she died of a blood clot in the narrow arteries in her right lung. The clot may have broken off from a larger clot that had started forming in her heart several weeks before the surgery. She was 71 years old, born May 12, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married her husband, David, on June 30, 1983, in Oakland, California. She is survived by David, her brother Don, her sisters Gidget, Leticia, and Norene, her children Debbie, McKay, Michael, Cyndie, and Tom, her grandchildren Amber, Ashlie, Brandon, Brooke, Lindsay, Megan, Michael, Morgan, Nicole, Saxon, and Schaefer, and great-grandson Brayden. She lived most of her life in California in the San Francisco Bay Area. She and her husband moved to Eureka in 2007. All who knew her are invited to her memorial service 4:00 P.M. Saturday, October 13, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 2806 Dolbeer Street (just south of St. Joseph's Hospital). It will be followed by a potluck reception. If questions, call David at 502-9119. More extensive biography and information about Loretta will be written within a few weeks, and available by contacting David@Forthoffer.org by e-mail.
