Lynn Scoggins Bain

Lynn Scoggins Bain was born September 15, 1950 to Lloyd and Jennie Scoggins in Woodland, California. She died March 30, 2013. Lynn received her education in Oakland, California where she earned her RN degree from Merritt School of Nursing in 1972. She worked at Merritt Hospital until 1988, spending two years in the Peace Corp in Liberia, Africa. After meeting her husband Geoffrey Bain in the Peace Corp, they were married in 1988 and lived in Eureka, California. Geoff preceded her in death in 1989. Lynn had worked as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka since 1988, and in 2009 she began working for Hospice. Lynn was very active in her community and was a part of many church families, including Bethel, Christ Episcopal, Faith Center, and Cursillo. Lynn Bain was a loving, kind, generously giving person who has touched numerous lives and will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends. She is survived by her Liberian adoptive son Marvin G. Davis, Jr., her sisters Carolyn Henry of Laguna Niguel and Doris Rose of Fresno, and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Bethel Church in Eureka, Friday, April 5 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to The , a charity near and dear to Lynn's heart.
