Nina Winogradov 1945-2013 Nina Winogradov was born in South Korea in 1945 and passed away on May 1st, 2013. She came to the US in 1976 with daughter Elle and son Bob settling in the Cutten area. Nina worked at the Humboldt blood bank, St. Josephs Hospital and Daly's as a cosmetologist before opening her own business Nina's Care Home in 1989. Nina was well respected and cared for by many in the Health Care industry. She was known as a very caring and compassionate person always thinking of others first. She was a devoted mother, wife and dear friend to many in her community. One of her favorite past times was operating her food booth "Nina's Korean fried Wontons" with family and friends on the Fourth of July in Eureka's Old Town for 15 years running. Nina also loved her little dog Fiona whose ears she colored bright pink consequently receiving many comments and compliments. Nina is survived by her husband Dave Silverbrand, son Bob Winogradov, daughter Elvira Winogradov-Torres, son-in-law Jacinto Torres, brother In Soo Kang and sister Chong Hee Song; as well as grandchildren Alyssa Winogradov, Laticia and Marcus Winogradov-Torres; and her nieces and nephews Allen and Susanna, Dale and Angela and Brian Winogradov, Sang and Nancy, Tae ho and Jee Hyeon Kang, Ji Yeon and Adam Slota of Chicago, Moobin and Hyuk Song of San Jose. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Rebecca and Jim Mierky, dearest friends and "sisters " Dolly Fry, Mia Bressler, Mija, Wookjin; and the Korean community of family and friends. Nina was preceded by her first husband Valentin Winogradov and mother Jang Sean Jeum (Harmony). Funeral services will be held at the St. Bernard's Church on Tuesday May 7th at 10:00 AM followed by services at Sunset cemetery and is open to all family and friends.
