Ronald Alfons Skillings

Ronald Alfons Skillings May 20, 1952 - March 23, 2013 Ron was born in Germany. His family moved to the U.S. when he was a boy at age of 6. He and his family ended up moving to El Paso, Texas where his father retired from the military. Ron was an altar boy at the age of 13 at the church his family would attend every Sunday. When Ron was a boy he had a dog named Pull-Him-Up (so named because they had to pull him up into the car). Ron's very first job was at age 15. He was a paper boy. At age 16 Ron left home and traveled to every state on the west side of Mississippi. Ron enjoyed camping, football (major Cowboys fan!) and spending time with family. Ron was a long time resident of Eureka. He worked construction for over 18 years. He attended College of the Redwoods where he learned to be an electrician. He is survived by his wife Linda; his two sons Kyle and Fonzi; and two daughters Tanya and Jessica. He was a loving Grandpa to four grandsons Kayden, Trenton, Riley, and Preston. He also leaves behind two brothers and a sister. Ron had a lot of friends in the community and will be missed by all. You will always be in our hearts, your loving family. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life for Ron at the Moose Lodge in Eureka on Saturday, May 18th from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Please sign the guestbook at, click on obits.
