Shana Denenne Davis-Gatlin was born on January 22, 1977, and went home to the Lord on February 1, 2013 at the age of 36. Shana was very proud of her three beautiful kids Chase, Zoe and Finnegan Gatlin and was a kind, loving, and compassionate mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was known by all as the type of person who would give the shirt off her own back. Family was everything to Shana and she'll be greatly missed by all. Born in Arcata, CA, Shana was a proud member of the Hoopa Valley Tribe, and was also a descendent of the Yurok Tribe. She grew up in Eureka, Fortuna, and Hoopa California, where she attended school and excelled as a cheerleader and softball player. While at Fortuna, she met her husband of ten years, Joshua Gatlin, who she later moved to Jacksonville, FL with. While in Florida, Shana raised her children and graduated from the International Academy of Beauty and Cosmetology School. She later became the manager of a local hair salon, and quickly became one of the most popular stylists, not only because of her haircutting talents, but also because of her caring and vibrant personality. Upon leaving her life in Florida, Shana returned to her home and family in Hoopa. She continued her work as a hairstylist there, mostly for family and friends, up until the day she left us. Shana was extremely close with her mother and father, and especially cherished the time she spent with her children. She spent her final days in Hoopa with family. When being described by friends and family, there is one common theme to Shana's life, which is that, no matter what, Shana always "had your back". She was passionate in every aspect of her life; always standing up for what she believed was right, and above all, standing up for the loved ones she cared about most. Shana was extremely loyal, loved to laugh, and had an amazing zest for life. She lived for those around her and always saw the best in every person. Although she was only here with us for a brief time, we know that Shana lived every moment to the fullest and leaves us all with memories to be cherished. Shana is survived by her three loving kids Chase, Zoe and Finnegan Gatlin, and her parents Ronny Dean and Elizabeth Davis, and Kari Alameda-Fletcher and Troy Fletcher, Sr. She also leaves behind five sisters and two brothers including Angela, Joe, Nancy, Crystal, Melissa "Annie Bear", April, and Junior Davis. She is also survived by her paternal grandparents Reggie and Ethel Ruth Davis, as well as her maternal grandmother Joy Frazier, not to mention numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pall Bearers include: Curtis Kane, Daniel Masten, Daniel McQuillen, Lorenzo Manuel, JJ Reed, William "Bill" McCovey. Honorary Pall Bearers: Rick Davis, Josh Gatlin, Larry Alameda, Jeremy Alameda, Larry Alameda, Jr., Hank Alameda, Jr., Jeff Alameda, Ronny Reed, Sr., Jason Reed, Ronny Reed, Jr., Charlie Reed, Ryan Reed, Aaron Williams, Arlen Williams, Talon Davis, Tony Sylvia, Troy Fletcher, Jr., Cody Fletcher, Dennis Jackson, Eric McKinnon, Robert "Wolfie" Colegrove, Panther Colegrove, Mitch Hedrick, Mike Martinez, Rick Sanderson, Terry Mullins, Loren "Two Feathers" Offield.
