Valarie L. McNamara-Johnson

Valarie L. McNamara-Johnson Val was born July 24, 1953 and passed away August 20, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father Russell "Sonny" N. McNamara Sr. and her beloved dog Mitzi. She is survived by her mother Joan McNamara and her children Shannon Wilson and her husband Sean Wilson; Sean Buskirk and Steven Buskirk; as well as her brothers Russ McNamara and his wife Terri, Dana McNamara and his wife Teri; and Robert McNamara; and her grandchildren Walker Wilson, Tanner Wilson and Sierra Parker and nephews and nieces Sarah McNamara, Katie McNamara, Kelley McNamara, Cade McNamara and great nephews Christopher Borges and Brody Withers. She grew up in Humboldt County and started her family here. She had the opportunity to live and see many parts of the United States. She would tell you the most beautiful place on earth that she'd ever seen was Alaska. One of Val's life passions was organ donation and I'm sure she's up there proud as can be knowing that her wishes to be a donor came true and she was able to save a life. She had an enormous heart and loved her family and friends dearly. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She reconnected with some very special friends from high school recently, who she spent many luncheons and celebrations with, which was something she treasured. Val was a good woman who always met you with a smile and a hug, and was well known for her boisterous laugh that made all heads in the room turn to see what was so darn funny. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed greatly. A Celebration of Life is pending. Please sign the guestbook at www.times-standard.com click on obituaries.
