Andrews, Wanda Lorene March 23, 1943 - Nov. 5, 2012 Wanda passed away in Eureka, CA on Nov. 5, 2012 at the age of 69. She was born in Vallejo, CA. She was preceded in death by her son Randall Andrews in 1980 and her daughter Yvonne Cringle in 2010, mother Eunice Kenney Thornbrugh, father Lewis Lofton, step-father Nelson Booth and brother Darwin Booth. Survived by her granddaughters Sarah Maldonado and husband Albert, Rachel Harris and Michaela Cringle, great granddaughter Leah Maldonado, sisters Carol Booth Sherbin and husband Sergei, Caren Booth Haney and husband Ian, niece Jennifer Haney and nephew Ethan Haney. And, her many close and long time friends including Evelyn Mori, Charlotte and Gary Dodson, Ann King, Carol Schaefer, Beulah Walund, Gloria Sheets, Kathy Olds, Barbara McGee, Barbara Morgan, Jim Harris, Joyce Moser and Teri Welsh. Wanda's first job was working for the county hospital in the early 1960's where her supervisor Dorothy Samuelson became a life long friend and was a guiding influence throughout her life. After working for Bankruptcy Trustee Bill Grover from 1964 to 1968, Wanda worked as a legal secretary for Jack Braun for many years and received her paralegal certification in March, 1990. She was active in the Humboldt County Legal Secretaries Association and made many, many long lasting friends. She loved old movies, jigsaw puzzles, creating artwork with tiles and beads and playing with her friends. She was a fantastic speller. If ever you couldn't spell a word you could just call her and she knew. She was mechanically inclined and friends called upon her to install everything from answering machines to VCRs. She was the rock that her family and friends leaned on and will always be remembered as someone who positively influenced other's lives. She will be missed by those who knew her and loved her. Wanda's generous heart, sense of humor and quick wit defined her despite the many adversities in her life. Rainbows held a special place in her heart and she was especially loving to her furry cat friends. Her memory will remain with her family and many friends who loved her as they recall the good times shared together. A celebration of life will be held early next year.
