Roger Allen Griffin

Roger Allen Griffin Roger passed away March 27, 2013 in Eureka, CA at the age of 73. Dad came to Eureka when he was 18 to work for his father Earl Griffin and step mother Irene driving yellow cab. Then worked for his father at Griffs Cafateria at 4th and H St. He firsted fished with Joe Francis then with Henry Campbell on the Leona C. His first boat was the Margie R. then built The Emmy, then had the TJ. His last boat was the Sea Agate. He was a commercail fisherman for 46 years, and fished on the Queen City. Dad married Emily Tye in 1966. Dad enjoyed hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, and camping with family when he wasn't fishing or building crab pots. He especially enjoyed his mornings having coffee and talking with his friends at Gills by the Bay. Roger is survived by his wife Emily Griffin of Eureka, Ca., Sons; Mike Giffin (Cassie) Griffin of Eureka, Ca.; daughters; Patty Kellerer (Allen) of Arcata, Ca., Brenda Fluellen (Robert) of Midway, Tx.; grandchildren, Alan Kellerer Jr, Amy Kellerer, Corey Griffin, Chris Griffin; brothers Wayne Griffin (Nancy) of Mesa. Az.; Richard (Debbie) Griffin of Sparks, Nv.; sisters; Ellie Moe (Mike) of Roseburg, Or., Donna Whaley (Steve) of Anderson, Ca., and Carol Sauer. As well as many nieces and nephews. Roger is preceded in death by his parents Earl Griffin and Leona (Schatzman) Griffin, brothers Glen and Greg Griffin.
