Charlotte Jane Chapman Charlotte Jane Chapman passed away peacefully with family at her side on Feb. 23, 2013. Charlotte was born in Humboldt County on May 3, 1928. She worked with her husband, Warren "Buzz" Chapman, to establish and run Chapman's Gem and Mineral Shop and Museum. Together, they traveled the world. Charlotte is survived by a son, Jerry Chapman and his wife Patty, and a daughter, Sharon Brown and her husband, Lyle; grandchildren, Jason, Pete and his wife Sarah, Christina, Samantha Francheschi and her husband Craig, Kristie Merrill and her husband Steve, and Bobby Brown and his wife Jeni; great-grandchildren, Cody, Spencer, Ramon, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Aiden, Andrew, Asher and Axton; and two brothers, Richard Cathey and his wife Jackie and David Cathey and his wife Susie. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen; husband, Warren "Buzz" Chapman; a sister, Marian Banfil; and her parents, Mable and Roy Cathey. A memorial service will be held March 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Campton Heights Baptist Church, 1655 Cecil Ave. in Fortuna. A reception will follow at the church.
