There is never an election that comes that I don't think of Clyde. He was a good man. I am sorry for the families loss.

To the CLYDE JOHNSON family.
I was saddened to read the news of the passing of Clyde. I have been gone from the Arcata/Humboldt County area for close to thirty years, but remember Clyde very well. I served with him in the Arcata Volunteer Fire Depaprtment in the 1953/1956 era.
Again I was saddened to read the news.

Dear Ola and Family,
I remember the great times at the Courthouse Cafe and running for election and Clyde's smiling face no matter what. Remembering Clyde will keep him here in your heart.

Dear Ola;These days remind me of the old movie trailer of "Time Marches On"Some times the ones that we think will never leave us is all of a sudden are gone and we feel the world has come apart but the Lord said he would never leave us nor forsake us so when Our world comes apart we must go to God. Jesus said, when he was coming to his crucifiction, that He would send a comforter that would never leave us alone. When we give our lives to the Lord and lay our problems on him he will give us the Holy Spirit to be our Helper at times like these. So remember the good time and give the bad times to the Lord. I remember Clyde and our days at the S.O. and the good times we had and the special dinners and meetings and then I think of all of the "Boys" that have gone on ahead of us and then I think how short our life is and then I think of My Lord and the comfort he gives me and think of My future will forever be with The LORD. Ola, give your heart to our Savior Jesus Christ and lean upon him. May God keep and Comfort you through these times. We,the old members of the old guard S.O . are with you. Love, Frank Wigginton and my Sweet Heart Velma. Again, May God Bless and Comfort You.

Having spent most of my Law Enforcement career in Humboldt County, I can't help think of the people I worked with. I remember Clyde as a Brother Officer and a friend. My prayers are with you and your family.

Ola & Family: I knew Clyde as a caring and gentle man with strong ideals and the courage to uphold them. Memories of his supporting Ola in the cafeteria after retirement showed his love for her. The family can take solace knowing Clyde was someone who left a better world in his own way. Sorry I can't make the services.

Dear Ola...
When someone dies you don't "get over it" by forgetting; you get over it by remembering, and by remembering you are aware that no person is ever truly lost or gone once they have been in our lives and loved us, as we have loved them.

Ola and family, Clyde was like a father to me and many others who began their Law Enforcement career's in the Humboldt County Jail. His relationship with me was always warm, caring, and that of a good friend. Those of my generation will always think of the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and Clyde as one in the same. He was the face of Humboldt Co. Law Enforcement to many of us. My prayer's are with you and your family. Dave Renner, Sheriff-Retired

When I read of Clyde's passing it brought so many good and fun memories of my younger years when Clyde was working at the Sheriffs Office under my father who was Sheriff at that time (Albert Nickols). Clyde always had a kind word, and smile when ever I stopped by the Sheriff Office. He was a very pleasant, kind person and I'm sure he will be missed by his family. He is now at peace and you have a special Angel looking down on you all.
God bless,
Vivian (Nickols) Christian
