David Chester Church David Chester Church, a resident of Pepperwood, passed away on Friday, September 27th 2013, at the age of 59. David was born in Scotia, CA on October 3, 1953 to Clarence Church and Margret Lee. He proudly served with the Fortuna Volunteer Fire department Company 5 from August 24, 1981 until he went except in October of 1992. For many years David work for the City of Fortuna within their sewage treatment plant. David loved spending any spare time he had with his family, especially his granddaughter Emma. He enjoyed spending time up in the hills with his best friend Larry Hurd. David is survived by his three children, James Blake of Loleta, Jillian Church of Fortuna, and Jessica Church of Eureka. His Granddaughter, Emma Petersen of Fortuna. His girlfriend Cynthia Cowan of Pepperwood. His mother Margaret Lee of Fortuna. Also survived by his brothers, Robert Church of Oregon, Sandy (Darlene) Church of Fortuna, and Randy (Linda) Church of Fortuna. Also survived by his sisters, Donna (Jack) Taber of Nebraska, Mary (Chet) Anderson of Tuolumne, and Judy Ramsland of Hydesville, and many nieces and Nephews. David is preceded in death by this brother Donald Church and his Father Clarence Church. There will be a memorial service held for David on October 3, 2013 at the Main Fire Hall in Fortuna, located at 320 South Fortuna Blvd, at 11:00am. Everyone is welcome to come celebrate David's life.
