Eddie Hall Davis

Funeral Services for Eddie Hall Davis will be held on Friday, November 19 at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery, 3975 Broadway in Eureka. He passed away November 10 in Grass Valley at the age of 90. Ed was born on February 24, 1920 to Sam and Willie Lee (Morgan) Davis in Texas. He attended Eureka High School, where he met and later married Audrey Lane Webster. They were married 53 years. Audrey preceded Ed in death in 1991. Ed served in the United States Navy during World War II, on board the LST775. He drove long line truck until his retirement in 1986. Driving for Lazio Fisheries, Callison, Ways, Safeway and Acme Trucking Companies. He was a great golfer and with Audrey played frequently. He played in numerous tournaments including the Half Moon Bay Classic and St. Isadore's Charity. He placed second in the HMB Classic. He and Audrey loved to travel and had volumes of photos of their adventures. In later years after moving to Central Point, Oregon, he became a snow bird, summering in Oregon and wintering in Yuma, Arizona. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years with Humboldt Lodge, No. 79, F&AM. Surviving are his children DeeAnn Belfield and Richard Davis; grandchildren Jerry Dennis Belfield, Jr., Donna McCree, Randy Lane Davis and Carol Davis; great-grandchildren Scott and Allison Kirby, Zack, Kayla, Jordan and Noah Davis, sister-in-law, Lois Arrington and a niece and two nephews. Ed loved music and had a wonderful voice, therefore, the family requests donations to the EHS Class of 1956 Music Scholarship through the Humboldt Foundation, 373 Indianola Road, Bayside, CA 95524.
