June 29, 1914- November 3, 2010 Henrietta was born to Clarence Andrew Lacque and Mary Winifred Warnock Lacque in Walla Walla, Washington. As an infant, she and her family traveled the Oregon Trail by covered wagon to Napa, California where Clarence was employed at a vineyard. Henrietta grew up in Napa along with her seven siblings. Henrietta had fond memories growing up in Napa. Her memories included, growing a big garden during the depression and going to school. Of course, her favorite entertainment was barn dances on weekends. In the early 1930's she married Raymond Hurd. They moved to Orland where they had two children Arthur and Lois. Together they operated a dairy for several years on Summit Avenue (approximately Road M today) until her marriage to Raymond dissolved. Other family members eventually moved to Orland to live close to Henrietta. No sooner did the family get settled and Henrietta was off on another endeavor. Despite this, many of the Lacque family members still live in Orland today. Henrietta later married Erwin (Bud) Anderson. Henrietta and Bud had an adventurous life for the next 55 years. In the early 1950's they moved to Ferndale where they bought a gas station/ convenience store. They were able to build a very profitable business, as they were very well liked throughout the community. It wasn't long before they were both bored and eager to move on. Their next years together included countless moves, 50 plus. Bud worked for the California State Parks and Odd Fellows Temple in Santa Rosa as a janitor and Henrietta bought and restored houses. Hard work was a way of life for Henrietta, she was always ready to sell and start another project if she was able to "pass a buck". In 1964, the unthinkable happened; Henrietta lost her son Arthur Hurd to a drowning accident. This weighed heavy on her heart for the rest of her life. Her only comfort was the love she received from her family and friends. Family love and her love for God became the most important aspect of Henrietta's life. In 1995 she and Bud were able to retire. They moved to Hayfork, California to live by her daughter Lois and family. One could say, Henrietta had almost the perfect life with the exception of losing her son. Her life was adventurous, amusing and full of love and laugher. We will miss her dearly. Henrietta is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lois and George Silva, her grandchildren Donna and George Silva Jr., Arthur Townsend (Susie), Leslie O'Neil (James), Lisa Cooney (Brian) Stace Townsend (Pegi), her great grandchildren, Cary Townsend, Kelli Boots (Brian), Kaylee Townsend, Candice Russ (Quincy), Jennifer Bowen(Jason), Katelyn O'Neil, Jessica Sangervasi (Shaun), Joshua Cooney (Monica), Hannah Gomez (Gustavo), Wyatt and Isaac Townsend, her great-great grandchildren, Michael and Genesis Perry, Nathan and Naomi Bramlett, Tiara Russ, Emilee Sangervasi, Alayna Cooney and Lucas Bowen, her brother Samuel Lacque, her sisters, Mildred Shreve and Esther Hill, her niece Lynn Millar-Head for whom she had a special bond and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Weaverville Hospital, and the staff at St. Luke's Manor. Henrietta appreciated all of you.
