James Francis "Jim" Brady Sr. James entered into eternal rest on June 8, 2013 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 49 years old. James passed away surrounded by his loving family at home with his son James Brady and his cousin Sherri Mabe (who he adopted as a sister) by his side. James fought hard after he was diagnosed with the cancer in August 2012. He remained optimistic through the whole process and always had a smile on his face. He was sure to point out that cancer doesn't discriminate and he wasn't angry with the outcome of his life. James was born on July 29, 1963 in Eureka, California to Beverly and Murray Brady. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for most of his life and also worked in the auto body repair business. It was in Eureka that James met and married Julianna Thompson. James and Julianna had one son, James Brady, whom James loved very much. He was very devoted to family. James loved everything having to do with the outdoors. Later in his life, James bought a Volkswagen Vanagan Westfalia so that he could live out his dream of traveling wherever the road took him. He dreamt of mining for gold and living off the land. Towards the end of his life, James enjoyed going on weekend trips to places like Elk Meadows and Gold Beach to enjoy nature and spend quality time with his family. James was preceded in death by his father Murray Brady; his mother Beverly Brady; and his brother Michael Brady. He leaves behind his only son James Brady and numerous cousins and their families. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. There will be a celebration of James's life for friends and family on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the home of Sherri Mabe.
