James Knight Obituary

James Knight of Lewiston (formerly Arcata) died November 14, 2010 at the age of 88. James was born January 12, 1922 in Slick, OK. He was a WWII vet who served in the US Army 1st infantry division as an auto machanic and infantry man from Nov 1942-Oct 1945. he was very proud of his numerous medals and military service. He moved to California in the late 40's where he met and married Esther Baker of 52 years. James was a long time member of the Masonic Lodge of Arcata, CA. He work and retired from the lumber industry as an electrician and maintenance manager. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and helping friends. He will be sadly missd by his son Jim Knight of Weaverville, daughter, Sharon Yarbrough of McKinleyville, and Phyllis Price of Weaverville, granddaughter/caregiver Amber Knight and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 1757 J street, Arcata, CA at 2pm on Friday November 19th. Please sign the guest book at www.Times-Standard.com, click obits.
