JOHN ROBERT BRAUN (JACK JR) John Robert Braun ("Jack" "JR") passed away at his home in Loleta on January 7, 2018. Jack was born in Boise, Idaho on September 21, 1930, the son of Agnes Elizabeth Evans and Alfred Brown. He was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred Braun and Carl Braun, and his daughter Michelle Braun. Jack leaves behind Pauline Braun, Pamela Jarose-Braun, and his children, Marcia Braun (Peter), John Braun, Jr. (Jay), Kathleen Braun, Jennifer Braun Jensen (Brad), Ryan Braun, his "adopted" son, Bob McKenzie (Connie) and his step-daughter, Cristina Upton. Jack also leaves behind his special friends, Mock Wahlund, Tom Sutton, John Burman, Ken Bareilles, Terri Holmgren Spaulding, John and Mary Caye Wise, Dennis Chism, Dave Brazil, Susan Bingham and Bob Hoopes. Jack enjoyed the outdoors, water skiing, hunting, fishing and hiking in and around the Trinity Alps with the Holmgren and Nord families, and later at Ruth, where he built a beautiful summer home and enjoyed fishing on Ruth Lake. He was most proud of his ranch at Blocksburg, where many of his friends hunted for trophy bucks, played horse shoes and cribbage for hours on end, and told stories by the campfire year after year. So sorry to hear of JR passing. I loved when he and John Burman would come visit us in Willows . They had a great time hunting for pheasants and ducks. We had some great crab dinners and just enjoyed visiting and playing cards. He was quite the charmer and could tell a story like no other. My husband Mike Hughes was always greatful for his friendship and enjoyed hunting on his ranch. He will be missed. I know he and Mike are sharing hunting stories. RIP JR

I had the privilege of becoming close to Jack during the last year. I was able to spend many hours with him in hospital during those quiet times one on one he shared his many stories and the hopes and love he had for each of his children and Pam. I will miss the heart to hearts we had. My life is better for knowing him. Thanks Jack for letting me in.

John Braun was a formidable family law and bankruptcy attorney when I 1st became an attorney in 1973. He was always impeccably dressed, and charismatic. It was always a delight to work with him over the course of several years.

He was a gentleman always.

I knew Jack Braun when he was quite a Badminton player! I saw no mention of it in his obit, yes he enjoyed a spirited game, and at one time he was rather good at the game. I just didn't want this bit of info go on without mentioning his badminton game...

Thanks Jack and Pam for all the help and work you guys gave Donna and me when I ran my carpet cleaning business. It was always fun coming to your office or out to your house. We will miss Jack's friendly smile.

So sorry to hear of JR's passing. He was an epic figure in my life. It was a good time to run into him now and then at Ingomar club dinners when I was a grown man. We laughed a good deal- he, Nord, and my father. RIP, JRB.

Pam,

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing and loss of Jack. He was such a soft spoken, gentle and kind man like our father Alfred Henry Braun /Brown was. The grandparents starting using Brown instead of Braun during WWI. The picture you posted is very good, he's looks just like our dad.
Pam I remember when you and Jack came to visit when mom and daddy were still alive. You were always so sweet and happy and they were always thrilled to see both of you. I have some great family pictures of all of us. One of daddy's best memories was when they came and visited you and Jack for a week at the ranch I believe. He always talked about that.
It's been such a long time since I've saw Jack probably 10+ years, Jack was 23 years older than me. He and Ryan came to Boise for a visit and get together at Nancy's house, brother Carls daughter and brother Alfred and Carol were there also along with Mary, Carls second wife and my husband Mike and I. It was so nice getting to know one another a little bit as our worlds were so far apart.
Our brother Gary Wayne Brown passed away on August 12, 2017. Gary also was a great loss, that puts me as the only living sibling left of that generation. No more parents, aunts, uncles, cousins alive.
I know your loss is extremely hard, take care of yourself. My love and thoughts are with you.

Some of my most cherished memories of my childhood involved spending time at the Braun house. Jack was always so kind and welcoming. Sending love to his family.
