Kenneth Yates Obituary

Kenneth was born on Dec. 2, 1952 and passed away suddenly in an accident on Friday, October 15th, 2010. Kenny was a loving father, husband, brother, grandpa, uncle and friend. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Estevo, his wife Stacy (Tay) Yates, his daughters Tana and Courtney and her husband Steve. His brothers Edward, his wife LaVonne, Tommy Yates, his wife Linnea Yates, his grandchildren Trevor and Cameron, his nieces Heather, Wendy, Tricia, Angela; his nephews Daniel, Jeremy and Ryan; his great nephews Benjamin, Dylan, Donnie, Austin and Michael. His great nieces Nikki, Vanessa, Sierra. He will also be missed dearly by Colleen Murrish and her family and friends. There are also many friends, family and loved ones that will also miss him. Kenneth was an amazing man beyond amazing. He loved to fish, hunt and go crabbing. He loved camping at Deer Camp and he adored the ocean. Kenny is now beyond this world in Heaven with our Lord, but he's still fishing and hunting. He is in our hearts always and will be forever missed. His smile, his glow brightened up the room and his laughter brought joy to all. Kenny was kind and generous to everyone. He would do anything and everything to help a situation. You could always count on Kenny. He is forever loved and will never be forgotten. We love you. Memorial Services to all family and friends will be held at The Faith Center on Thursday, Oct. 21 at 1:30 p.m. 1032 Bay Street, Eureka. We would love to see you all to celebrate Kenny's life. I was friends with Kenny at EHS class of 71, we used to talk a lot at school. I had been trying to find him the past few weeks to tell him about our 40 yr reunion but I didn't realize that he had moved back to Eureka...wish so much that I could have made contact with him...He was such a kind person & always friendly. Several of his classmates have sent condolences on facebook...We from the class of 71 will remember him at our reunion next year...I am so sad that he is gone & I will miss him so much....I am praying for your family. God Bless You!

I worked with Ken several years ago on the waterfront project for HSU. He was always going out of his way to help others. My favorite memory of him was one Monday morning after bow season started he got to work right before our scheduled shift and hadn't unpacked from that weekends hunt. Yep, a beautiful buck was still laying in the bed, covered up, but proudly displayed for his co-workers to marvel upon. God rest your soul Ken. May the bucks and fish still fear you as you enjoy your time chasing them in the abundant afterlife.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was shocked to hear the news. I really liked Kenny. I hope he and his Dad can go fishing up in heaven and hang out together. My deepest sympathy.

POEM for Comfort -
When we lose someone we love
The loss seems too great to bear
God sends us friends to comfort us
To show that He deeply cares

But in the dark hours of the night
When there’s nobody else around
When we feel the saddest and loneliest
It’s there God’s love can be found.

MAY YOUR FAMILY FEEL THE LOVE OF FRIENDS and JESUS.

I first met Ken in 1976 when he started working with me at Southern Discount Finance in Tampa Florida.. I became good friends with him and his wife Tay. We went camping and fishing with them numerous times and we had so much fun together. They moved to California and i missed them terribly. Over the years we have kept in touch and i got to visit them once in the ninetys. My heart is broken. Ken was a sweet and kind person. He will be missed so much. Tay, Courtney and Tana please accept my condolences.
